Our Staff
James Healy: Owner/Luthier
James Healy has been interested in all things breakable/fixable ever since the first time he took apart his parents’ V.C.R. and couldn’t get it working again. He graduated from Roberto-Venn School of Lutherie in 2008 receiving top marks for the two guitars he built there: a solid body, set neck electric and a bolt neck concert acoustic. Upon graduation, he served at a D.C. local guitar retail/repair shop as the head technician where he remained for about 4 1/2 years. (So there’s a good chance he’s already worked on your guitar!) In September of 2013 he decided to branch out on his own to better serve the musical community.
